Earth Hour 2010: Top Ten Things to do during Earth Hour
March 27, 2010 was the annual awareness campaign of WWF - World Wide Fund for Nature, also known as World Wildlife Fund, which is the Earth Hour , This is an event wherein everyone is encouraged to close their lights for a whole 60 minutes. This is celebrated throughout the world at the same time regardless of the time zones. (For us in the Philippines its 8:30 in the evening).
In the spirit of raising awareness towards the need to take action on climate change and the idea of being bored during the participation of Earth Hour at home, I came up with the top things we can do during the Earth Hour. This way we can prepare ourselves to be entertained for a whole hour of darkness.
Top Ten Things to Do during earth Hour:
1. Light up candles. With our advancement of light bulbs and all, we seldom do anything with candles other than in the cemetery or a romantic dinner or in the spa. So, I guess this is the right time for us to use those candles and have a more solemn feeling. But we all have to be careful, it will defeat the whole purpose of Earth Hour if the fire you will cause will be contribute more to the carbon dioxide in the air.
2. Push up and do some stretching. This gives you a piece of mind to relax and feel your body. It to reflect while doing some yoga, Pilates or whatever you do to trim those fats in your body.
3. Reflect and Doze off. Like I said earlier this is the time to think about what you did or what you are planning to do. Rather than do this in church while listening to the homily, this is the right time for you to doze off and imagine things on which you plan to do and you want to achieve.
4.Take a bath. I don’t think that you were that soiled when joined in with the celebration of Earth Hour, so it’s just ok if you take a bath without the lights. If you’re not comfortable, you can always use the candle and it will be more practical if a fire broke loose because you’re already near the water so you can extinguish it easily. Or a better idea: Conserve water. Share a bath.
5. Talk it out. I guess this is the time you can clearly talk to people without any distraction from all the media around us. We seldom find people nowadays that are not occupied with something on their hands- internet, MP3s, cellular phones and books. Even when we eat together, people are still occupied-eating and sometimes would really focus on what you are saying. So take this time to enjoy the moment of talking to each other.
6. Go to another house. This is a great time for you to go have some sleepovers or bug friends around. For those people who like gossips, then this is your best excuse to invade people’s privacy and have some juicy info for all.
7. Walk around the house naked. For those who feel liberated on the idea of being naked. This is your once in a year chance to do that. I’m not sure as to how your gonna pull this off when you live with other people, but for those who live alone, neighbors wouldn’t be bugging you. And for the extreme and adventurous, this is one good dare everyone needs to try on.
8. Go for a walk. You have tons of things to do outside, like see which neighbors and establishments that don’t support Earth Hour. For neighbors you can always understand how ignorant they are, but for the establishments, boycott their product and services. That’ll teach them a lesson.
9. Dig out your guitar for an acoustic music night and have some beer. You can also sing your hearts out with your friends and have some beer under the stars. I don’t think you guys need any light to enjoy this moment. Even just the beer, you’ll probably enjoy as most people do.
10.Tell ghost stories. This is also one of seasons where you can tell ghost stories and urban legends aside from Halloween and All Saints Day. I think it’ll be more exciting if you do this while doing the above things to do.
I credit some of the things to do here from the globeandmail.com, having 60 things to do during Earth Hour. That list is hard to beat, but presented some creative ideas.
And for some added things to do: Go to bed early!, which I highly doubt people will do even the kids.
Hope this helps for next year’s celebration.

The Start of it All
Frustrated DJ is a radio DJ. He likes to share his thoughts most of the time. He is frustrated because although he has the entertaining mind, he doesn't have the personality of a DJ. He's not that good in being articulate with expressing his ideas and most of the time stutters when pressure, awkward silence, space out and hot women who he didn't expect engaging a great conversation with him, comes in.
He likes music, politics, entertainment and opinions.
Frustrated DJ is also a sucker for movies, TV series, traveling, sappy ideas (this is the part that says I'm a hopeless romantic guy) and entrepreneurship or anything that is related to it.
Frustrated DJ likes information. Whether be it a gossip, a fun fact or a top ten, he sure would like to share it to someone. He likes creative ideas too. That’s why he entertained with tons of advertising reels on Youtube.
Frustrated DJ enjoys going to the gym and takes good care of his health. But he doesn’t mind having some drinks with him on a Friday or Saturday night as long as you keep him company and you have a ride home.
Frustrated DJ also likes running marathons and playing a bit of those video games.
Lastly, Frustrated DJ likes to share some lifelong lessons/insights we all ought to learn someday in our lives.
Frustrated DJ was born because of ton of information that needs to be shared to everyone who wants to know, learn and be inspired to anything and everything or to something new each day
Frustrated DJ likes to talk, smiles a lot, wants to laugh and a great daydreamer.
